Dash cam plug types

Every common dash cam and radar detector plug works with Dongar. Each adapter ships with a short USB-C → USB-C cable in the box. For MicroUSB, MiniUSB, RJ11 and DC-barrel devices, add the matching converter from our USB-C cable lineup.

A few older Garmin dash cams (Dash Cam 20, 45, 55, 65) draw power over USB but still require Garmin's proprietary charger. All current-generation Garmin Dash Cams are compatible.

FAQ

Is there a full vehicle compatibility list?

Yes — our Fit Finder covers ~10,000 fitments across every make above. Compatibility varies by trim, options, and even build factory, so visually identifying your mirror connector against the cards above is usually the fastest way to confirm.

Do you support GM / Chevrolet / GMC / Cadillac / Buick?

Yes. The DCA-10G covers the auto-dimming mirror connector across most 2010–2026 GM brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet, GMC). Older copy on this page said otherwise — it has been updated.

My dash cam uses an RJ11 phone-style plug — what do I do?

Pair any USB-C-output Dongar adapter with our USB-C → RJ11 cable. This is the path for radar detectors from Valentine, Escort, and Uniden.

I have a BlackVue or Thinkware dash cam with a DC barrel jack — what do I do?

Pair any USB-C-output Dongar adapter with our USB-C → BlackVue or USB-C → Thinkware cable. The converter cables match each manufacturer's barrel-jack pinout — pick the one for your dash cam.

I'm not sure which mirror connector my vehicle has.

Send us photos via our contact form. Photos of the back of the mirror, the base of the mirror, and the overhead console help us identify the connector in minutes.
