2021 Mazda CX-5 Installation

Items Needed:

Tilt the mirror down for better access.

Note: Before beginning installation, locate any cables connected to the rearview mirror. Do not continue with installation if there is no power running to the mirror (auto-dimming or HomeLink)
A trim removal tool will be needed for this portion. Insert the tool into the gap seen at the bottom of the shroud and slide the tool up the plastic shroud. This should unclip the fasteners and allow the panel to come off.

Note: Though not required, the driver-side panel can also be easily removed and is not held up in place by any clips
Locate the connector and disconnect by simply pressing the tab and pulling straight out.
Attach the appropriate Dongar adapter. In this case, we'll be using the 10-pin Type E (Mazda Frameless Mirror).

Note: Check 10-pin Type A if you do not have a frameless mirror
Find a nice spot to mount the USB module or tuck it away completely within the shroud. Connect the USB powered dash cam and the installation is complete!
