3rd Gen Tundra (2022–2026)
The 3rd gen Tundra shares its platform with the 4th gen Tacoma, which means Toyota pre-wires most trims with the OEM dashcam connector. You have up to three connection points depending on your trim.

Connection Points Explained
Rearview Mirror
Plugs into the auto-dimming mirror connector underneath the plastic mirror shroud. USB output mounts on the windshield near the mirror — easy to access and disconnect.
Domelight Cavity
Plugs into the pre-provisioned OEM dashcam connector inside the overhead console. This is the same port Toyota uses for their dealer-installed dashcam. Lives entirely hidden in the ceiling. The new Tundra has this connector because it shares its platform with the 4th gen Tacoma.
TSS Computer
Shares power from the Toyota Safety Sense lane-trace assist computer near the mirror base. Does NOT connect to the mirror itself. Works even on base trims without an auto-dimming mirror.
How to Install
Mirror Install (DCA-10B / DCA-12A / DCA-14A)
- Tilt your rearview mirror down and slide the shroud back slightly to expose the connector at the back of the mirror — no need to fully remove the shroud
- Locate the mirror connector (10-pin on 3rd gen, 12-pin or 14-pin on 2nd gen) — NOT the nearby TSS connector
- Unplug the mirror harness
- Plug the Dongar adapter inline between the harness and mirror
- Route the USB-C cable behind the headliner to your dash cam
- Slide the shroud back into place — done
Domelight Install (DCA-5A) — 3rd Gen 2022+
- Pull the overhead console / domelight assembly straight down (requires firm force — it clips in with 2–4 red clips)
- Locate the white 5-pin connector on the driver's side, usually taped up from the factory
- Plug the Dongar adapter into the connector
- Route the USB-C cable to your dash cam
- Push the domelight assembly back into place — done

This is a no brainer for easy power right where you need it. A previous reviewer seemed to attempt to plug this into the mirror harness which is incorrect. To install pull from the windshield side of the overhead console piece.
I use a Dongar Pro with a Viofo A329 in my 2023 Toyota Tundra and the dashcam goes into parking mode. Since the new Tundras have most of the dashcam wiring in place for the Toyota branded dashcam the install was quick and clean. No truck battery issues at all.
Totally love the Dongar adapter on my '23 Tundra. All of the adapter fit up inside the OH Console and all that comes out is the included short USB-C cable that goes right into the Vantrue E1Pro slide in mounting base. Adapter and camera installed in minutes.

Which Dongar adapter fits my Tundra?
3rd gen (2022–2026): DCA-10B (mirror), DCA-5A (domelight), or DCA-12T (TSS computer). SR trims without an auto-dimming mirror can use DCA-5A or DCA-12T. 2nd gen (2012–2021): DCA-12A (mirror), DCA-10B (mirror), DCA-14A (auto high beam models, 2014+), or DCA-12T (TSS 2.5). What harness do I use for the Dongar PRO on the Tundra?
For the 2022+ Tundra domelight install, use Harness 5C. This is different from most other Toyotas (including the Tacoma) which use Harness 5A. Harness 5C is included in every Dongar PRO and PRO+ box. For the mirror install, use the included 10B harness as usual.
Can I use the domelight (5-pin) connector on my Tundra?
Yes, 2022+ Tundras have the pre-provisioned OEM dashcam connector in the domelight cavity. This is the same connector Toyota uses for their dealer-installed dashcam. It's on a dedicated fuse and lives entirely hidden inside the overhead console.
Will it work with my Viofo / Garmin / Vantrue?
The Dongar Classic and PRO output true 18W USB-C and work with virtually all USB-C powered dash cams. Garmin Mini 2/Mini 3 and Vantrue work great with both PRO and PRO+. Viofo and RedTiger cameras have non-standard USB-C — the PRO will keep them recording, but for proper parking mode detection, the PRO+ is recommended (it has dedicated 5V always-on + Parking Mode CC settings). Tundra owners have confirmed great results with the Viofo A329 and Vantrue E1Pro.
What about 2nd gen Tundra (2012–2021)?
The 2nd gen Tundra uses the rearview mirror or TSS connector. DCA-12A fits the 12-pin mirror connector. DCA-14A is for 2014+ models with auto high beam. DCA-12T taps into the TSS 2.5 lane-trace computer. DCA-10B works for models with a compatible 10-pin mirror connector. Only DCA-10B supports the Dongar PRO on 2nd gen models.
