If you have a Mazda with automatic dimming rear view mirror, and a dash cam this is for you. I installed it using the plastic tool provided in less than 15 minutes. No longer do I have a cable going to the 12 volt outlet on the dash. Makes a very clean and professional install.

Fitting the Dongar adapter was straightforward , requiring only a few trial runs to conceal the unit inside the mirror housing. I found it fitted best with the extra 6 pin connector sited alongside the original & the USB power socket up towards the top of the housing. I had to buy a 500mm lead to connect to the dash cam, but was expecting that as Nextbase power base requires 90deg mini connector to fit neatly. Hardest bit was feeding this lead through gap from headlining to mirror housing, which is no reflection on the design/quality of the Dongar.

The most difficult part of the job was removing the cowling around the mirror to get access to the connector. Once that was done it was straightforward. What was difficult though, was fitting the USB port inside the cowling. I had to stick on the outside to the windscreen, next to the dash cam. If the socket had been smaller, it could have been tucked away in the cowling. Really glad I purchased this connector though. I made the fitting so much easier and neater. I fitted to a Mazda CX30 2021 model.
