Which Adapter Fits Your CX-5?

How to Install

Mirror Install (DCA-10A / DCA-10E)

  1. Tilt your rearview mirror down and locate the plastic shroud/cover at the base of the mirror
  2. Gently remove the mirror shroud by pulling it straight down — it unclips easily
  3. Locate the 10-pin mirror connector behind the shroud
  4. Unplug the mirror harness from the connector
  5. Plug the Dongar adapter inline between the harness and mirror — it only fits one way
  6. Route the USB-C cable along the headliner to your dash cam
  7. Replace the mirror shroud — done
Pro tip: The USB-C cable tucks neatly behind the headliner trim. No need to run cables down the A-pillar near airbags — everything stays hidden at the top of the windshield where your dash cam mounts.

Parking Mode with PMA-02 / PRS-02

Want your dash cam recording while your CX-5 is parked? Dongar offers two Mazda-specific parking mode adapters: the PMA-02 (PRO, single output) and PRS-02 (PRO+, dual output for front + rear cams). Both feature built-in parking mode intelligence.

A word about parking mode: It sounds great on paper — your dash cam watches your car 24/7. In reality, memory cards fill up quickly with motion-triggered clips (especially in busy parking lots), and most front-only or front+rear cameras won't actually capture a side-impact hit-and-run. Repeated charge/discharge cycles can also wear on your vehicle battery over time. That said, if you do want parking mode, the Dongar approach gives you flexibility — easy install, easy removal, and built-in voltage cutoff to protect your battery. Which do I need — standalone, PRO, or PRO+? If you only need your dash cam running while driving, choose the standalone adapter (DCA-10A or DCA-10E). If you want parking mode with a single camera, choose the PMA-02 PRO. If you run a front + rear setup and want parking mode for both, choose the PRS-02 PRO+. The PRO and PRO+ each replace the standalone adapter — you don't need both a standalone and a PRO.
